welcome
to the coast...
The Costa del Sol has plenty to offer
for every type of visitor - from the glitz and glamour or Puerto
Banus to the rustic charm of Ronda. Venturing
away from the usual tourist destinations can be rewarding since
food, drink, and local goods tend to be more authentic and reasonably
priced.
While Puerto Banus offers jet set glamour and seemingly
24 hour entertainment, San Pedro is a quiet fishing town with some
of the best locally run fish restaurants in the area. Further afield,
the market town of Estepona and historical town of Ronda make for
a fantastic day trip.
Here is an overview of the areas local to the
house...
puerto banus
The hugely opulent Puerto Banus is the
place to visit. whether you stroll through the port to view the
luxury yachts, or sit "people watching" in one of the
many restaurants and bars, the famous port offers
plenty of chances to while away a few hours sitting drinking coffee
(or something a little stronger) or spend your money in some of
the many boutiques.
Nightlife buzzes at Puerto Banus with your choice
of alfresco bars, piano bars, discos, and nightclubs. During the
daytime Banus is a window shopper's dream with several of the world's
renowned fashions houses situated amongst the many interesting boutiques.
Located behind Puerto Banus is a 'the bullring'
where every Saturday morning is the immensely popular street market.
With many market stalls and adjacent local shope, you can pick up
all kinds of bargains.
marbella
The villa is situated four
miles ( 6 kilometres) from Marbella town. The town boasts many restaurants,
bars, discos, exclusive shopping facilities, and supermarkets.
Situated along the beachfront are well maintained
beaches and long esplanades with entertainments for all the family.
Marbella "old town" is located in the centre with its
narrow shaded cobbled streets, whitewashed houses ordained with
hanging flower baskets, and small Squares(plazas) containing fountains
and exotic trees.
Behind Marbella is the well known "La
Concha" mountain which provides Marbella with the special micro-climate
for which it is famous.
san pedro
The local fishing town of san pedro
offers a slower pace of life to that of marbella and puerto banus.
There are plenty of superb " family run" fish restaurants
here (check out fernandos) so be sure to make a visit.
ronda
About 50 minutes drive from the house
is the historic mountain town of Ronda, home to Spain's very first
bullring. Steeped in history from its many military occupations,
and set amongst some truly impressive scenery, Ronda is a must during
your stay. should you wish to be more adventurous, then Seville.
Granada, Cordoba, Cadiz, and Gibraltar all make for great day trips.
